Gerry Kim is an award-winning producer whose work spans documentary and narrative features. His producing credits include Iris Shim’s THE HOUSE OF SUH (2010 Hot Docs Premiere), Jennifer Kroot’s TO BE TAKEI (2014 Sundance Premiere), Esra Saydam and Nisan Dağ’s ACROSS THE SEA (Audience Award, 2015 Slamdance Film Festival), and THE UNTOLD TALES OF ARMISTEAD MAUPIN (Audience Award, 2017 SXSW Film Festival). His most recent feature, Fernando Frías de la Parra’s I’M NO LONGER HERE, was released worldwide as a Netflix Original in 2020 and won 10 Mexican Ariel Awards including Best Picture. The film was also nominated for Best Iberoamerican Film at the 2021 Goya Awards, longlisted for Best Film Not in the English Language at the 2021 BAFTAs, and shortlisted for Best International Film at the 2021 Academy Awards.

Gerry received the Producers Award at the 2021 Film Independent Spirit Awards and was a Creative Producing Fellow at the Sundance Institute in 2014. An alum of Columbia University’s Graduate Film Program, he has written and produced several short films, including FAIRLAWN, which screened at the Seattle International Film Festival, !f Istanbul Film Festival, and San Diego Latino Film Festival. He also wrote, directed, and produced the DGA Award-winning short LIVING THE DREAM, which screened at the Denver International Film Festival and the Boston International Film Festival. His feature script THE CAMFORD EXPERIMENT was a semifinalist for both the Nicholl Fellowship and the Austin Film Festival. He also received the SFFILM Rainin Grant for his script MUCHO POWER, which will be directed by Fernando Frías de la Parra.

In addition to his producing work, Gerry spent more than a decade in locations in New York and New Jersey, contributing to numerous films and television series including Mike Birbiglia’s SLEEPWALK WITH ME, Matt Wolf’s TEENAGE, Errol Morris’ limited series WORMWOOD, HBO’s DIVORCE, Amazon’s HUNTERS and MOZART IN THE JUNGLE, and Hulu’s MONSTERLAND.
